Are there more perfect desserts than chocolate donuts? I would say it might be these chocolate donuts cooked in the healthier, vegan oven. These are so easy to do, are super soft and delicious and are great to share with family and friends. And I bet that they will not even be able to say that they are vegans!

What you will need to make this recipe
Donut ingredients
- oatsA: Oat flour is just at the Earth of Oat. You can either do yours by crushing oats in a mixer or buy oat flour in almost any grocery store. This is a brand that I like to use.
- whole wheat flour: I like to use the combination of oat and whole wheat flour. Oat flour adds a unique flavor and oats contains many nutrient ingredients. The whole wheat flour has gluten, so it adds texture and is due to the recipe and makes extra divets donuts.
If you want to keep the gluten-free recipe, you can use all oat flour, but be sure to give donuts a lot of time to refresh you before glazing because oatmeal does not have as strong as when the whole wheat flour is incorporated. However, the taste is also great with all oats, so if you are intolerant with gluten, I recommend it!
- peanut butter– Use creamy natural peanut butter for this recipe. Natural peanut butter is the genre that only lists « peanuts » and perhaps also salt under the ingredients. It has no additional oils and sugar. This type of peanut butter is flowing and smooth. This is the consistency required for this recipe and that is why traditional peanut butters like Jiffy will not work – the dough will become too thick.
- cocoa powder– Cocoa powder is different from cocoa. Cocoa is treated at a high temperature and loses a large part of its nutritional value, while cocoa powder is rich in iron, magnesium and potassium. This is why I prefer cooking with cocoa powder, but you can certainly replace the cocoa in cocoa if you don’t have them on hand. Navitas is a brand sold in many places, but there are many others. Here is what the cocoa powder looks like, so you know what to look for.
- chemical
- pinched salt
- milk without dairy: All milk without dairy products will work for this recipe. I like soy or oats in this recipe.
- coconut oil: Make sure the oil is melted before adding it to the dough. If not, you can microwave coconut oil for a few seconds to melt it.
- vanilla
Glaze
- melted chocolate– Use any chocolate of choice. I use a vegetable dark chocolate. Two brands that have a very good vegan color chocolate are Endangered species And Beyond good. Note: Make sure you measure chocolate once it has already melted.
- Coconut oil: As previously indicated, make sure that coconut oil is founded before adding it to the recipe.
You can also add mapping maple syrup if the chocolate you have chosen is not sweet enough and you would like your frosting to be sweeter. It is difficult for me to say how much maple to add because it all depends on the sweetness of the chocolate you have chosen. I recommend tasting the frosting before glazing the donuts.

How can I make this gluten-free recipe?
To make this gluten -free recipe, you can do two things. Un- You can replace all the wheat flour with oat flour. In this way, the only flour used in the recipe will be oat flour, which is gluten -free. If you have an allergy, be sure to buy a brand that specifically says it is gluten-free.
Another thing you can make to make the gluten -free recipe is to replace all the wheat flour with a gluten -free flour specially designed for cooking. A good alternative is this one From Bob’s Red Mill.
This recipe will not work with almond flour or coconut flour.
If I have a nut allergy, with what can I replace peanut butter?
Peanut butter can replace sunflower butter, which is a great substitute for allergies. Scandal is a popular brand that people love.
How should I store the donuts? How long will the donuts last?
When stored in the refrigerator in an airtight container, the donuts will last 4-5 days. I recommend microwave for a few seconds after leaving them from the refrigerator, so soften them before eating.
