Dacks are one of my favorite desserts of all time! Unfortunately, most regular donut stores have no vegan options, but I will show you how easy and delicious to make your own version at home! This vegan donut recipe is also gluten -free and made healthier, because these donuts are cooked and not fried.

What you will need to do them
Donut ingredients
- oatmeal: I love to cook with oat flour because it is really on the ground and therefore contains the same great nutrients as oats. I also think that it is delicious and adds a lot of flavor to pastries. You can buy oat flour or do yours by crushing oats in a mixer. Make sure to correctly measure the flour – here is an article that I like that shows How to correctly measure the flour.
- coconut sugar: I like to use coconut sugar due to the unique flavor it has and because it has a lower glycemic index. However, you can use any type of granulated sugar that you have on hand. However, be sure to use granulated sugar, not a liquid like maple syrup. Otherwise, consistency will not work.
- chemical
- pinched salt
- peanut butter: Use creamy natural peanut butter for this recipe. Natural peanut butter is the genre that only lists « peanuts » and perhaps also salt under the ingredients. It has no additional oils and sugar. This type of peanut butter is flowing and smooth. This is the consistency required for this recipe and that is why traditional peanut butterings like Jiffy will not work. The dough will become too thick. If you are using one of the conventional peanut butters, add more milk until you reach a slim and pasty consistency.
- coconut oil founded: If your coconut oil is solid, microwave for 20-30 seconds in a safety dish in the microwave until it melts.
- vanilla
- milk without dairy: All milk without dairy products will work for this recipe. I like to use soy milk because I think it is the most creamy and closest to dairy milk.
Glaze
- melted chocolate: Make sure you measure chocolate once it has already been melted.
- peanut butter: Again, use creamy natural peanut butter for frosting.
- Coconut oil: Melt coconut oil before adding it to other ingredients. For this recipe, I recommend using non -fragrant coconut oil, unless you like taste and flavor.
- Maple syrup: You can also use agave, honey or other liquid sweetening of choice.
You will also need a bucket of donut and a large pastry bag. It’s the pan that I use – I had Amazon mine. You can find pipe bags in the cooking section of any grocery store.

How to make this vegan donut recipe
Start by combining dry ingredients in a bowl – oatmeal, sugar, baking powder and salt. Mix them well.
In a separate bowl, mix the wet ingredients – peanut butter, melted coconut oil, vanilla and milk. Mix them well.
Add the wet ingredients to dry and combine.
Transfer the bowl dough to a large pipe bag.
Cut the end of the pocket with scissors. The hole in the piping bag must have about an inch in diameter.
Piping the donut dough in a donut mold. (Grease the pan in advance if you do not use a non -stick pan).
Cook the donuts for 12-14 minutes at 350F / 180C.
While the donuts cook, mix the ingredients of glaze in a bowl.
Tip: Make sure that the bowl you do in the frosting is wide enough for you to install the entire donut when you immerse it. Try to use a bowl with a flatter background that is also shallow.
When the donuts have cooked, give them 20-30 minutes to cool before removing them from the mold so that they can put themselves and they do not collapse. Then place them on a coolant and let them cool for a few more minutes.
Once the donuts have completely cooled, take each and dip it in the chocolate frosting.
Turn the donuts over the cooling grid until the chocolate hardens, then take advantage of it!
The donuts really have the best taste when eaten the same day! But they last 3-5 days when stored in the refrigerator in an airtight container.

What is oats?
Oat flour is simply oats which is finely crushed to a flour.
How to make oatmeal or where can I find it?
You can make your own oatmeal by crushing oats in a mixer. I usually do this in my nutribullet.
You can also buy oat flour in almost all grocery stores. I generally receive mine at Walmart or Whole Foods. Here is a brand that I like and that I use.
Can I use another type of flour?
I have not tested this recipe with other flours, so I can’t say it with certainty. However, I made similar recipes with whole wheat flour, so I suspect that all the wheat flour would also work. I also suppose that the all -use flour would work, as well as in a gluten -free flour which specifically says that it is a cooking flour 1: 1. A good as is this one From Bob’s Red Mill.
This recipe will not work with coconut flour or almond flour.
What if I have a nut allergy?
If you have a nut allergy, you can replace peanut butter with sunflower butter. Scandal The brand is very popular and ideal for allergic people.
Are the donuts without gluten?
Yes, these donuts are gluten -free because they are made with oat flour and none of the other ingredients contain. If you have an allergy to gluten, make sure that the oats you buy says it is gluten-free.
How long will these donuts last?
These donuts last 3-4 days when stored in the refrigerator. However, I think they have the best taste after cooking, once they have cooled and the frosting has hardened.
How to store them?
Keep these donuts in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
Can donuts be frozen?
I have not tried to freeze these donuts, so I’m not sure.
