For a long time, I did not eat French toast, because I did not even think that a vegan version could be done. I had definitely missed! I experienced a few different versions of French toast, and I finally installed this one that I absolutely like. In the end, I roughly substituted the original ingredients of classic French toast for their vegan counterparts, and the recipe ended with incredible tasting! Here’s how I make my favorite vegan toast recipe.

What you will need for this French vegan toast
The classic French toast recipe requires milk and eggs, so for this version, I have just replaced them with milk without dairy products and a linen egg. Discover the exact ratios that I used below.
- 1 cup of milk without dairy products
- 1 tablespoon of ground linen
- 1 tablespoon of corn starch
- ½ tablespoon of coconut sugar
- 1 teaspoon of vanilla
- 1 teaspoon of cinnamon
- pinched salt
- About 6 slices of bread
I also chose to make this gluten -free version and used gluten -free bread. The recipe itself is gluten-free, so if you have an allergy or a gluten sensitivity, do not hesitate to use this same recipe and use gluten-free bread. If you don’t have an allergy, don’t hesitate to use the bread you want!

How to make your French vegan toast
- In a large bowl, add milk, linen, corn starch, sugar, vanilla, cinnamon and salt. Mix well and let stand for a few minutes.
- Then cut your bread and dip each Miche bread in the mixture. Make sure it is completely covered. I let mine dip for ten seconds on each side.
- Grease your pan with coconut oil and cook each piece of French toast for 2-3 minutes on each side. This recipe is about 6 slices of toast.
- Once your French has been cooked, garnish with maple syrup, powdered sugar and fresh berries, or all the garnishes you prefer.
