This recipe is incredible to make if you want to serve a fancy and delicious breakfast, but you know that you will not have a ton of time in the morning. What you will need to do the French toast vegan pan
French toast ingredients
- expired bread / Old bread for a day: See the notes below on the type of bread to be used.
- coconut milk: To make the extra creamy and delicious pan, the key is to use canned coconut milk. Canned coconut milk is much thicker and creamy than ordinary plant milk, and even ordinary dairy milk. It gives the recipe a taste of gentle custard. If you wanted, you can go with light coconut milk instead of the full version.
- non -dairy milk: In addition to canned coconut milk, you will also need a little milk without dairy products. You can use almond milk, oats, soy milk, cashew milk or everything you prefer.
- brown off: The brown sugar works better in this recipe, but you can rather use white sugar or coconut sugar.
- vanilla extract
- ground cinnamon
- cornflour: The Arrowroot powder will also work.
- ground linen seeds: You can also replace ground linen for replacing eggs purchased in stores like just eggs, but linen eggs work very well.
Cream cheese frosting ingredients
- pure maple syrup
- Vegetable cream cheese
- vanilla extract

Required tools
- Saven or cooking dish: I used a 9 x 9 inch dish.
- large bowl: to fill the pan.
- bowl: To do the cream cheese frosting.
- whip

What bread to use in the French toast pan
You can use any type of bread you like in the French toast pan. Some delicious options are French bread, Italian bread, whole wheat bread, sourdough bread or white bread.
The best bread to use, in my opinion, is the vegan brioche bread. If you live in the United States, Trader Joe’s has an incredible vegan brioche that I highly recommend! This is what I used in this recipe.
If you need a gluten -free option, just exchange bread for gluten -free bread.
Why use stale bread when making French toast
The traditional toasting bread pan is made with expired bread. Indeed, fresh bread soaked in the liquid mixture will become too soggy. The use of expired bread prevents this.
If you don’t have a stingy bread at hand, you can leave your bread discovered on a plate in the refrigerator during the night and it will be expired in the morning. Alternatively, you can slightly grill your bread before soaking it in the mixture of French toast.
Adapt this recipe for fall
This recipe is great to enjoy at any time of the year, and it is particularly perfect to take for Christmas breakfast.
It can also be an excellent recipe to have in the fall, because it is super comfortable and comforting. If you wanted to give this recipe an autumn touch, you can replace ¼ cup of milk for ¼ cup pumpkin puree, as well as the addition of 1 to 2 teaspoons of pumpkin pie spices.

How to make this French toast pan without egg
First, cut the bread into cubes and place the pieces of bread in the saucepan dish.

To make the mixture of pastry cream, whisk together the box of coconut milk, milk without dairy products, brown sugar, vanilla, cinnamon, cornstarch and ground linen seeds in a large bowl.
Pour the custard mixture over the bread cubes and use your hands or a spoon to make sure that each piece of bread is fully coated in the mixture.

Cover the cooking dish with plastic film and refrigerate overnight, or for at least a few hours, to allow the bread to completely absorb the liquid.
When you are ready to cook the French toasted bread pan, preheat your oven to 350 ° F (175 ° C).
Place the casserole dish in the oven and bake in the oven for 35 to 40 minutes, or until the cream is adjusted and the upper layer of the pan is golden brown.
Note: If you want your plant of French vegan toast to have an even more buttered taste and a more crisp top, you can add a few tablespoons of vegan butter melted on the pan before putting it in the oven to cook.
While the cooked casserole dish, prepare the frosting with vegan cream cheese by whisking the vegetable cream cheese, maple syrup and vanilla in a small bowl.

Once the French toast is finished to cook, let it cool for 10 to 15 minutes at room temperature before serving.
Spread the frosting with vegan cream cheese on the pan and garniates it with fresh fruit. I garnished mine with a net of maple syrup and fresh berries.
How to store the French toast pan
If you have leftovers, store them in the refrigerator. You will want to put the leftovers in an airtight container. If you don’t want to transfer them to a cooking dish, you can rather cover the casserole dish with aluminum foil.
To warm up, place a slice of pan of French toasted bread on a baking sheet and cook at 350 ° F (175 ° C) for 10 to 15 minutes, or until heated. You can also the microwave instead.
