The toast trend with cream has been everywhere, and I wanted to do my own version that has no eggs or dairy products. I worked on many attempts, but I finally got a delicious version that I hope you will like it as much as I do!

What you will need
- 2 slices of bread: I used the leaven. Paked bread also works very well for this recipe because you can easily crush it and create a well to put the custard.
- ⅓ Cut your favorite yogurt without dairy products: I used Unwell.
- 2 tablespoons of arrow powder (or cornstarch)
- 1 ½ tablespoon maple syrup: Add more or less, depending on the suction of your yogurt. Mine was not sweet, so I added so much. If you use an already sweet yogurt, you may not need to add a sweetener.
- ¼ teaspoon of vanilla
- Optional: lemon zest
- Topping: Fruit of choice. I used raspberries, blackberries and blueberries.

How to make the vegetable grilled bread
Whisk the yogurt, arrow, maple, zest and vanilla in a bowl and combine them well.
Using your fingers or a spoon, create a well in your bread. Add the custard. Garnish with bays of choice.
Cook the toast in the oven for 20 minutes at 350F / 175C. My bread was a thick slice of sourdough, so if you use a thinner slice or a softer bread, you may want to cook a little less – until the edges start to become golden and crisp.
Remove the toast from the oven, leave 5 to 10 minutes to cool and the custard, then sprinkle a little more maple syrup and take advantage of it!
