These apple bars are filled with nutritious ingredients and garnished with a vegan caramel sauce. They are vegans and gluten -free.

What you will need
Crust ingredients
- oats: I used old -fashioned oats for this recipe.
- almond flour: Blanch almond flour works better.
- cinnamon
- chemical
- maple syrup: Agave, honey or another liquid sweetener will also work.
- coconut oil: Vegan butter will also work.
- vanilla
- A touch of salt
Fill the ingredients
- apples: all apples will work. I love to use HoneyCrisp.
- lemon
- coconut sugar: All granulated sugar will work like white, cane sugar or brown sugar.
- vanilla
- cinnamon
- cornflour
Caramel sauce ingredients
- coconut cream: The coconut cream is available in a box. This is the brand I like. For this recipe, you will have to refrigerate the coconut cream overnight. Once you remove it from the refrigerator, open it and only take out the solid part that has formed at the top. Do not use any water.
- coconut sugar: Again, all granulated sugar will work, but I love to use coconut sugar due to the unique flavor it gives to this recipe.
- cornflour
- vanilla
- salt
How to do apple bars
Start by crusting. In a large bowl, mix oats, almond flour, chemical baking, maple, melted coconut oil, vanilla and salt. Mix them well.

Line the bottom of a cooking dish with parchment paper and grease it lightly with coconut oil.
Add the crust to the pan, but save about half of the mixture for the top layer.
Use a spatula or your fingers to tap the crust until you have a closely packaged layer.
Now is the time to make your filling. Cut and peel the apples, then cut them as thin as possible.

To a saucepan over medium heat, add the apples, lemon juice, cinnamon, coconut sugar and vanilla.

Cook the apples for 3-4 minutes, then add the cornstarch. Stir everything together for a minute, then remove from the heat.
Pour the apple garnish on the crust layer. Use a spatula to make sure it is uniform.
Add the remaining half of the crust on the apples.

Bake the bars for 30 to 35 minutes at 400F / 200C.
Remove from the oven and give bars enough time to cool so that the garnish can be fixed.
I cut mine in smaller squares and made 9 bars with this recipe. Keep it in the refrigerator for 5-6 days.
